FUEN: a Community based on Solidarity
The largest umbrella organisation of the European minorities is steadily expanding.

FUEN currently has nearly 100 member organisations. Every year new members are admitted to the FUEN-family.

FUEN considers itself as a community based on solidarity. The situation, needs and challenges of the individual minorities in Europe are very heterogeneous. There are exemplary models for protection of and support to minorities, but there are also states that still today deny the existence their autochthonous minorities. The European minorities want that their voice is better heard and want more influence in the regions, in the national states and on the European level.

In cooperation with the members many activities are being organised with a European flavour and of European importance. Here we should mention the EUROPEADA – the European football championship of the minorities – and the annual meetings of the Slavic, Turkic and German Working Groups.

FUEN has a wide network and many contacts with European minorities and their organisations, with political decision-makers, academic institutes, cultural and educational institutions, youth organisations and other partners.
